Prepare the night before, bake the day of serving. Warm, hearty and flavorful.

Recipe Ingredients for Sunday Casserole

12 slice Bread, Whole-wheat, Commercially Prepared
2 small Onions
16 oz Pork Sausage, Fresh, Cooked
4 cup, shredded Cheddar Cheese
5 large Egg, Whole
2.5 cup Milk, Reduced Fat, Fluid, 2% Milkfat
6 tsp Country Dijon Mustard

Recipe Directions for Sunday Casserole

  1. Line bottom of greased 9? x 13? baking dish with bread slices.

  2. Sauté onions in butter until tender.

  3. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Brown sausage; drain.

  5. Over the bread, layer ˝ the sausage, onions and cheese.

  6. Repeat layers.

  7. In a bowl mix together eggs, milk and mustard; pour over layers.

  8. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

  9. Starting in a cold oven bake at 350° F for 50 - 60 minutes or until set.
