Recipe Ingredients for Sugared Asparagus

1/2 lb asparagus, raw
1/4 tbsp Smart Balance
1/2 tbsp brown sugar
1/4 cup chicken broth
1/4 tsp sesame oil

Recipe Directions for Sugared Asparagus

  1. In a skillet over medium-high, heat butter and brown sugar until sugar is dissolved.

  2. Add asparagus; saute for 2 minutes.

  3. Stir in chicken broth; bring to a boil.

  4. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5 minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender.

  5. Remove asparagus to a serving dish and keep warm.

  6. Cook sauce, uncovered, until reduced by half.

  7. Pour over asparagus and serve immediately.
