Recipe Ingredients for Sugar Cookies!

1 1/2 cups flour
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 tablespoons oil
1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 large egg
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Recipe Directions for Sugar Cookies!

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.

  2. Brown butter in saucepan (being careful not to burn!)

  3. Mix in sugar and oil until smooth and slightly cool.

  4. Mix in egg and vanilla until smooth.

  5. Whisk together flour, salt and baking powder in separate bowl. Add to butter mixture, stirring until just mixed.

  6. Chill dough until cooled and firm.

  7. Working with half the dough, roll out until 1/8" thick and cut into desired shapes. Place onto greased cookie sheet, 1/2" apart.

  8. Bake one sheet of cookies at a time until golden brown along the edges, about 5-7 minutes. Do not overbake. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
