Recipe Ingredients for Sue's Spring Onion Pancakes yummy

50 g gram flour
50 g buckwheat flour
1 medium egg
2 spring onions, chopped
250 ml soy milk
1/4 tsp dried chili flakes
1 clove garlic, chopped

Recipe Directions for Sue's Spring Onion Pancakes yummy

  1. Sift flour into bowl, add beaten egg and mix., add milk slowly, stirring until batter is formed.

  2. Alternatively blend using a food processor.

  3. Add chopped spring onions, chili flakes and chopped garlic and mix in.

  4. Heat suitable oil in frying pan, using the smallest amount of oil you can get away with (NB oil is not included in the recipe, I use sesame oil or extra virgin olive oil, you can get the oil down to the barest minimum and the heat level right with practice, start off with medium heat).

  5. Put dessert spoonfuls of batter into the heated oil and fry both sides side to make small savoury pancakes. Pay attention to make sure oil does not overheat and move pancakes to make sure they do not stick.
