Traditional Scottish shortbread biscuits/cookies.

Recipe Ingredients for Sue's Shortbread yummy

125 g butter
55 g caster sugar
180 g plain flour

Recipe Directions for Sue's Shortbread yummy

  1. Heat oven to 190c/375f/Gas 5.

  2. Beat butter and sugar together until smooth.

  3. Stir in flour to get a smooth paste.

  4. Turn onto work surface and gently roll out until paste is 1cm or half inch thick.

  5. Cut into fingers or rounds and place on a lightly greased or lined baking tray.

  6. Dust with icing sugar.

  7. Put in fridge for 20 mins.

  8. Bake in oven for 15-20 mins or until pale golden brown.

  9. Cool on wire rack. Store in tin.
