Using cooking apples (Bramley apples)

Recipe Ingredients for Sue's Bramley Apple Crumble yummy

490 g bramley apples
1 tsp cinnamon
0.12 tsp ground cloves
200 g wholemeal flour
100 g flora original
2 tsp cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Sue's Bramley Apple Crumble yummy

  1. Rub in flour and margarine and oats until you have crumbs. Sprinkle 1 tsp cinnamon and mix in.

  2. Core and cut apples into thick slices and lay in baking dish, press apples down with hand.

  3. Sprinkle 1 tsp cinnamon and .12 (pinch, or half a quarter tsp) ground cloves over apples.

  4. Pour crumble mix over apples and press down with hands, then lightly scrape a fork over the surface.

  5. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon and a teaspoon of brown sugar.

  6. Bake at 190C for 30-40 minutes.

  7. Serve with natural yoghurt, vanilla low fat yoghurt, or creme fraiche according to taste.
