Vegan cake without added sugar. Dense cake sweetened by dates, banana and vanilla.

Recipe Ingredients for Sue's Banana and Date Cake yummy

300 g wholewheat flour
1 tbs baking powder
100 g dates
3 small bananas
3 tsp vanilla extract
125 ml soy milk
125 g flora
1/2 tsp sugar

Recipe Directions for Sue's Banana and Date Cake yummy

Mix flour and baking powder in a bowl. Chop dates and mix in. Mash bananas with vanilla and soya milk in another bowl. Melt margarine in saucepan over low heat, stir into flour, and add banana mix. Stir and combine with spoon. Pour into lightly greased cake tin (6 or 7" round tin). Sprinkle half teaspoon sugar on top. Cook in oven at 325F, 163C or gas mark 3 for about 1 hour until knife inserted in centre comes out clean and cake is golden brown. Allow to cool. Remove from tin.
