Slow baked porridge, takes an hour, useful if you temporarily lose your hob during building work. You need a small cast iron casserole dish or ovenproof baking dish with lid

Recipe Ingredients for Sue's Baked Porridge yummy

1 cup oats
2 cups water
1 pinch of salt

Recipe Directions for Sue's Baked Porridge yummy

  1. Preheat oven to 350F/175C.

  2. Place oats and water in casserole dish and stir.

  3. Cook in oven for 1 hour, giving time to shower, get ready, make lunch box, feed cats etc or go back to bed.

  4. Check after 40 minutes there is enough water for oats to absorb, ratio of twice water to grains should be enough.

  5. Serve hot.
