Recipe Ingredients for Sue's Apple Crumble with eating apples yummy

6 apples
125 g wholemeal flour
60 g porridge oats
90 g flora original
3 tbsp water
2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
15 g porridge oats

Recipe Directions for Sue's Apple Crumble with eating apples yummy

  1. Put ice cubes in a jug with the water.

  2. Core apples and chop roughly into pieces about half inch square. I prefer to leave the skin on. Put in baking dish, cover with water to prevent browning.

  3. Tip margarine into saucepan and heat gently until melted, taking care not to burn.

  4. Add flour and stir with wooden spoon to make crumbly mix.

  5. Drain off some of water from apples - leave about half inch (if wide shallow dish) and 1" (if deep dish) of water for cooking.

  6. Sprinkle apples with cinnamon and cloves.

  7. Cover apples with crumble mix.

  8. Sprinkle over tbsp of porridge oats.

  9. Bake at 180C for 40 minutes.

  10. Serve warm with vanilla yoghurt.

  11. Can reheat on low heat and serve for next couple of days.
