Recipe Ingredients for Sucre a la creme a l'erable (Maple Fudge)

2 cups maple syrup
3 tbsp margarine
1 cup cream, fluid, half and half
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Recipe Directions for Sucre a la creme a l'erable (Maple Fudge)

  1. Heat maple syrup and butter on medium heat in a large saucepan (4 litre); simmer for 5 minutes

  2. Add cream and boil mixture until the candy thermometer reads 245F (118C). about 30 min

  3. Once the temperature is reached, remove from heat; add pecans, stir and leave mixture rest for 5 minutes

  4. With an electric mixer, beat mixture for 10 minutes at maximum speed

  5. Pour into an 8"x8" square cake pan lined with wax paper

  6. Refrigerate to cool; cut into 1" squares
