Recipe Ingredients for stuffed peppers

12 green bell peppers
2 pounds ground beef
6 cups white rice (carolina)
1/3 cup salt
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup tomato sauce(red pack crushed tomatos plain)
1/3 cup parsley
1 onion
1/5 cup black pepper

Recipe Directions for stuffed peppers

  1. cut peppers tops off. cut down stem flat to top of pepper.

  2. take out ribs and other meat of pepper to add into mix.

  3. throw out seeds.

  4. chop up pepper ribs and a half a large onion.

  5. in pan brown and crumble ground beef. Strain fat. wipe pan.

  6. add 5tbsp of olive oil and heat.

  7. add chopped onions and saute the add pepper ribs and other pepper meat. add white rice and keep turning. then add sauce. and water to make it moveable in the pan as needed. salt and pepper to taste more is better because of the rice. add parsley. do not let it cook full just let the flavors simmer for 15 min. add rest of oil. do not let the mixture get too dry and don't let it burn. stop and then fill peppers with mixture to the top. put on the lid as best as you can. put them into baking pan top side down bake at 375 for two hours with aluminum covering pan well. punch hole at top. the last fifteen min. uncover and continue cooking. you may take peppers out earlier if rice seems to have curled check one pepper first. great to eat with italian bread and feta. even better leftovers.
