I use lean ground beef with 12% or less fat. I have fallen in love with these and would like to maybe try brown rice for next batch.

Recipe Ingredients for Stuffed peppers

1 lb. hamburger, browned
1 cup tomato sauce
1 can tomato soup
1/2 c. rice
1/4 c. lentils
1/2 c. onion, diced
1 tsp. Italian Seasoning
1/4 tsp. garlic
1/8 tsp. onion powder
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
6 green peppers

Recipe Directions for Stuffed peppers

  1. Brown the beef. Remove any excess fat. Add onions and cook until transparent. Add Tomato sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.

  2. Cut tops off peppers and pull out seeds and membranes. Trim bottoms if you need to make them sit straight. Stuff with meat mix.

  3. In small bowl mix the garlic, onion powder and Italian seasoning with the tomato soup and top the stuffed peppers.

  4. Bake in a 9x13 cake pan lined with foil and sprayed with Pam for 1 hour at 350 f.
