Peppers filled with lean ground beef - low fat version

Recipe Ingredients for Stuffed peppers (meat)

6 red bell peppers, medium, whole
400 g lean ground beef, boiled
1 onion, minced, boiled
1 tbsp brown rice,
10 g chopped parsley
10 g dill
10 g salt
10 g pepper
10 g allspice
1 tomato
156 ml tomato paste
4 cups water
1 tbsp bay leaves, whole

Recipe Directions for Stuffed peppers (meat)

  1. Wash the peppers, dry, core and remove the seeds. Mix the meat with one finely chopped raw onion, rice, chopped parsley and dill, pepper, salt and allspice. Mix everything well and use this mixture to fill the peppers. Put one tomato slice as a lid on each pepper. Arrange in a pan and pour the following sauce on top. Tomato sauce (water ant tomato paste). Add salt, pepper, bay leaves and other spices as desired.

  2. If the sauce does not cover the peppers add some water. Spread some chopped parsley, set to boil for a little while then place in the oven to bake until done.

  3. Serve with low fat sour cream or yogurt.
