Recipe Ingredients for Stuffed Peppers with lentils and turkey

1 pound ground turkey
1/2 cup uncooked long grain white rice
1 cup water
8 green bell peppers
16 ounce tomato sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1/2 cup diced onion
1 salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 cup cooked lentils

Recipe Directions for Stuffed Peppers with lentils and turkey

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

  2. Cook brown lentils and rice according to instructions

  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the turkey until browned.

  4. Remove and discard the tops, seeds, and membranes of the bell peppers. Arrange peppers in a baking dish

  5. In a bowl, mix the browned turkey, cooked lentils, cooked rice, 1/2 tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Spoon an equal amount of the mixture into each pepper. Mix the rest of the tomato sauce and Italian seasoning and pour over

  6. peppers.

  7. Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven. Baste as needed.
