Stuffed Peppers with turkey meatballs covered in homemade sauce made with crushed tomatoes, basil, garlic and 1 TBS olive oil.

Recipe Ingredients for Stuffed Peppers - AMR

16 oz. ground turkey
5 red bell peppers
4 ozs. Italian bread
1/4 cup Egg Beaters
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
28 oz. canned tomatoes
1 tbs Olive oil

Recipe Directions for Stuffed Peppers - AMR

  1. Wet bread. Squeeze. Mix bread with egg beaters, grated cheese and salt and papper to taste. Clean and cut peppers in half. Stuff each half.

  2. Sauce: Put 1 TBS olive oil in pan. Saute garlic and basil til basil wilts. Pour in 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes. Season to taste. Simmer 15 minutes.

  3. Put peppers, meatside up, in baking pan. Pour sauce over the peppers. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Cook in 350 oven approximately 45 minutes or until peppers are soft.
