Recipe Ingredients for Stuffed Mushrooms

24 large fresh mushrooms
1/4 cup sliced green onion
1 clove garlic
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup cheddar cheese
1 strips bacon (crumbled)

Recipe Directions for Stuffed Mushrooms

  1. Clean mushrooms, remove stems, and set stems aside. Place mushroom caps, stem sides down, in a 15x10x1 inch baking pan. Lightly coat mushroom caps with cooking spray. Bake in a 425 deg oven for 5 min. Drain mushroom caps, stem sides down, on a double thickness of paper towels.

  2. Chop enough of the reserved stems to make 1 cup. In a saucepan cook chopped stems, green onion, and garlic in hot butter until tender. Stir in bread crumbs, cheese, and bacon. Turn mushrooms stem sides up; fill with bacon mixture. Return mushroom caps to baking pan. Bake for 8-10 min more or until heated through.

  3. Serve hot and fresh from the oven.
