Stuffed Green Peppers with onions and mushrooms and tomatoes.

Recipe Ingredients for Stuffed Green Peppers

6 large green peppers
2 lb Hamburger Meat (Lean)
8 oz mushrooms
16 oz tomato sauce
1 (14.5 oz) Diced Tomatoes
1 large Purple Onion

Recipe Directions for Stuffed Green Peppers

brown the hamburger meat to almost done, but not quite all the way done. Drain the meat and add the onions and mushrooms, tomatoes and tomato sauce and let simmer. Cut the tops off of the green peppers and clean out the seeds. Place the green peppers into a pan and stand up. Spoon the mixture into the green peppers. Cover with foil and bake on 325 for about 30 minutes or until peppers are tender, but not mushy. Top with cheese about 5 minutes before taking out of the oven (optional).
