Recipe Ingredients for Stuffed Banana Peppers

8 medium (4-1/2" long) Pepper, Banana
3.86 serving Sauce, Pasta, Spaghetti/marinara, Ready-to-serve
1 pound ground chuck
8 ounces 0.5 cup Parmesan, Grated Cheese
2 2/5 serving Fancy Shredded Italian Blend Cheese
1/4 cup Bread Crumbs, Dry, Grated, Plain
1 large Egg, Whole

Recipe Directions for Stuffed Banana Peppers

cook sausage, then crumble or chop in food processor. Mix cooked sausage in mixing bowl with one egg, one cup bread crumbs, 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, and 1/2 cup spaghetti/marinara sauce. Mix well and set aside. Cut tops off of banana peppers and remove seeds. Bring water to a boil on stove top and once boiling, add banana peppers and boil gently for 5 minutes. Remove and set on cutting board to cool. Once cool, fill with sausage mixture (easy to do if you put it in a sandwich bag, then cut a hole in the bottom and squeeze into peppers, as if icing a cake). Pour some spaghetti sauce into bottom of casserole dish, place peppers on top, then top with remaining spaghetti sauce and 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese. Bake in oven (preheated to 350) for 30 - 45 minutes.
