A simple, easy morning treat or afternoon snack that satisfies your sweet tooth, is dairy free, and is great because it takes advantage of that wonderful summer produce before seasons change.

Recipe Ingredients for Strawberry Peach Smoothie - Dairy Free

1 peach
4 strawberries
1 tablespoon apple butter

Recipe Directions for Strawberry Peach Smoothie - Dairy Free

  1. This is a very simple thing to make. Take a maximum of 3 ice cubes (more makes it too watery, unless you are trying to make more than one serving in which case you would naturally increase all ingredients) and put them in the blender.

  2. Then, add a tbls. of the apple butter (the kind WITH sugar is only 29 calories per tbls., and the sugar free kind is much less but just as good). The reason you add the apple butter before you add the fruit is because it is a more liquidish substance that will help the blender blades to not overheat and be able to blend.

  3. After, wash your peach and cut it into thick wedges, dropping each into the blender. Make sure to throw your pit away and not put it in the garbage disposal, because if you do the latter you'll need to invest in a new sink, pipes, and disposal.

  4. Last, but certainly NOT least, strawberries! I only use 4 but of course this can be changed. Wash each and cut off the green stem, then halve them before placing them in the blender.

  5. Blend on high, making sure to stop it every now and then to hear if it sounds like it's fully blended, and pour into a glass and enjoy!
