Recipe Ingredients for Stir-Fried Chilli Beef with Orange and Ginger

4 oz (lean) beef steak, thinly shredded
1 tablespoon orange juice
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon oil
2 scallions, trimmed into 1" pieces
1/2 oz (fresh root) ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, peeled and thinly sliced
1 (red) chili pepper, deseeded and thinly sliced
3 oz green beans, trimmed into lengths
4 oz (cooked) noodles

Recipe Directions for Stir-Fried Chilli Beef with Orange and Ginger

  1. Place the shredded beef in a bowl with the orange juice and soy sauce. Allow to marinade for about an hour.

  2. Prepare the noodles according to the packet instructions

  3. Place a large frying pan or wok over a high heat and add the oil. Using a slotted spoon remove the beef from the marinade and add to the wok. Stir-fry for 2 - 3 minutes, and then remove the cooked beef from the pan and reserve.

  4. Reheat the pan, adding a little more oil if necessary, and add the spring onions, ginger, chili pepper and garlic. Cook over a high heat for a few seconds before adding the green beans. Stir and fry for 1 or 2 minutes.l

  5. Reduce the heat and add the remaining marinade to the wok. Finally add cooked noodles and beef to the pan. Stir to heat through before serving immediately.
