Perfect for breakfast with fat-free yoghurt

Recipe Ingredients for Stewed breakfast fruits

300 g dried prunes
100 g dried apricots
100 g sultanas
2 tsp cinnamon
1 large orange (juice and zest only)

Recipe Directions for Stewed breakfast fruits

  1. Place the fruit and cinnamon in a pan.

  2. Cover with enough water to cover the fruit and bring to the boil.

  3. Boil for about 5 minutes.

  4. Add the orange juice and zest and continue to boil until the sauce has thickened slightly.

  5. Allow to cool slightly before serving with yoghurt.

  6. It keeps well in a sealed box in the fridge for quite a few days and makes a refreshing breakfast served cold. Extra hungry? Add a handful of raw oats or muesli.
