Recipe Ingredients for Stewed Apples with Saffron

4 apples, peeled, cored and chopped
4 tbsp. butter
1/8 tsp. saffron
1 tbsp. turbinado sugar
4 tbsp. water
1 tsp. lemon zest

Recipe Directions for Stewed Apples with Saffron

Melt butter in sauce pan over high heat, and add apples and saffron and stir frequently for a few minutes. Add sugar and water, reduce heat and cover stirring occasionally until apples are almost a puree. Add lemon zest and remove from heat.
