Steffen's Beef Jerky Recipe

This is a full flavor beef jerky. For all of us who like it a bit more spicy. It takes 6 hours in the oven...trust me it is worth the wait. Enjoy!

Recipe Ingredients for Steffen's Beef Jerky

1000 grams Beef, Top Round
1 large Onions
6 clove Garlic
1 tsp Sea Salt
2 tsp Pepper, Black
1/4 cup Soy Sauce
1/2 tsp Meat Tenderizer
1/2 tsp Honey
3 tsp Chili Powder

Recipe Directions for Steffen's Beef Jerky

  1. Slightly freeze the meat and then cut it into 1/2 inch thin stripes. The freezing makes it easier to cut the beef.

  2. Dice the onions and garlic.

  3. Add the beef stripes, garlic onion and all other ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.

  4. Cover with foil and refrigerate 10-24 hours (mix it again after half time).

  5. Place beef stripes on oven rack and put into oven.

  6. Bake for 6 hours at 60 degrees Celsius or lowest possible temperature of your oven. Leave oven door an inch open. Flip stripes once after 3 hours.

  7. The meat should be completely dried out after six hours - if not, bake it more.

  8. It is worth the wait and your house will smell wonderful during this 6 hours.

  10. PS: Makes about 400 grams (8 servings) of Steffen's Beef Jerky. One serving of 50 grams (about 3-4 stripes) of this beef jerky have about 30 grams of protein. This is one full high protein meal!!!
