Steel Cut Oats with Raisins, Brown Sugar and Honey

Recipe Ingredients for Steel Cut Oats with Raisins, Brown Sugar and Honey

5 cups water
1 1/4 cups steel cut oats
1 1/2 cups skim milk
1 cup raisins
1 tbsp brown sugar
6 tbsp honey

Recipe Directions for Steel Cut Oats with Raisins, Brown Sugar and Honey

  1. Bring water to a boil in a stock pot.

  2. Add oats, bring to a boil, turn heat to low.

  3. Simmer, whisk and cook for 30 minutes, stirring every few minutes.

  4. When oats are thickened, add brown sugar and stir to combine, then pour into a refrigerator safe dish.

  5. To reheat: Scoop a portion into a microwave safe bowl, cook for 2 minutes, stir in 1/4 cup milk and 1 tbsp honey and eat.
