Makes 6 servings



Steel cut oatmeal with dried fruits and bananas - add whatever dried fruits you want! Golden currants are great as are dried blueberries and cherries.

Recipe Ingredients for Steel cut oatmeal

2 cups steel cut oats
8 cups water
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup raisins
1/3 cup craisins
1/2 cup dried cherries
2 large bananas

Recipe Directions for Steel cut oatmeal

  1. Bring water to a boil

  2. Add oats

  3. Turn heat to medium-low

  4. Simmer until all water is soaked into oats

  5. Towards the end - add dried fruit and chopped bananas

  6. After cooking, allow to cool

  7. Eat as is, or with added milk/almond milk, yogurt, brown sugar, honey, molasses, cinnamon, nuts
