Recipe Ingredients for Steel cut oatmeal

170 g oatmeal, steel cut, dry
1 quart water

Recipe Directions for Steel cut oatmeal

  1. Bring oats and water to a boil reduce heat to low cook for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally after 30 minutes

  2. when slightly thickened, add raisins, tsp of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt (if desired) continue cooking until desired thickness

  3. cover and remove from heat let set until cool put oatmeal into 3 ice cube trays making 6 x 6 cube (oz) servings. use each serving as part of the Breakfast menus. (which see)
