Dim Sum specialty. Ribs are cut into strips and into small rib cubes. Small bite size pieces usually eaten with rice.

Recipe Ingredients for Steamed Spare Ribs with black bean sauce

220 g pork rib, lean cut fat removed
1 tbsp black bean sauce
1/2 tbsp rice wine
1 tbsp corn starch
1/2 tsp grated ginger
1 clove garlic
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp cooking oil
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp sugar

Recipe Directions for Steamed Spare Ribs with black bean sauce

  1. Wash ribs and trim off excess fat.

  2. Cut ribs into small cubes (Each rib bone individual).

  3. Set aside.

  4. To make the sauce, in a small bowl mix together all other ingrediants except the cooking oil.

  5. Place ribs into bowl and coat ribs with sauce.

  6. Place coated ribs into a small dish that is safe for steaming.*

  7. Drizzle vegtable oil over ribs.

  8. In a large pot or wok pour about 2 cups of water and place a rack that reaches over the height of the water.Boil water and place ribs on the rack.

  9. Let the ribs steam for 15- 20 minutes.

  10. Remove and serve.

  11. *It is reccomended to use a medal dish that can be purchased at your local chinese or asian grocer.
