Recipe Ingredients for Steak with Spicy Chili Sauce

1/2 cup red wine vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 shallots
1 tablespoon thai red chili paste
1 garlic clove
1 1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil
16 ounce steak

Recipe Directions for Steak with Spicy Chili Sauce

  1. Combine the vinegar, brown sugar, minced shallots, chili paste, minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon of the oil in a bowl.

  2. Add the steak(s), turning to coat evenly.

  3. Remove steak(s), reserving sauce.

  4. Heat remaining 1/2 teaspoon oil in large skillet over high heat until almost smoking. Cook steak until done to taste. Transfer to plate and cover to keep warm.

  5. Add the reserved sauce to the pan. Bring to a boil over med-high heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until thick and syrupy, about three minutes. Spoon sauce over steak(s).
