Serve with Rice or Mashed Potatoes. Note: if salt is left out it will reduce the sodium amounts in Nutrition facts listed below. I leave out the salt and don't miss it with all the flavor going on.

Recipe Ingredients for Steak 'N' Gravy

1 lb beef top round steak, trimmed
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 1/2 cups water
8 ounce, can tomatoe sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons wheat flour
1/4 cup cold water

Recipe Directions for Steak 'N' Gravy

  1. Cut beef into bite-size pieces; brown in oil in a skillet. Transfer to a 1 1/2 quart slow cooker. Cover with water; add tomato sauce adn seasonings. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4 hours.

  2. In a small bowl, combine flour and cold water until smooth; stir into liquid in slow cooker. Cover and cook on high 30 minutes longer or until gravy is thickened.

  3. Nutrition facts: 1 serving (1 each) equals 204 calories, 7 g fat (2 g saturated fat), 64 mg cholesterol, 588 mg sodium, 7 g carbohydrate, 1g fiber, 27 g protein.
