Recipe Ingredients for split pea soup

64 fl. oz TJs organic low sodium chicken broth
1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
378 grams Onions
3 stalk, medium (7-1/2" - 8" long) Celery
4 carrot (7-1/2") Carrots
16 oz Ham, Sliced, Extra Lean
454 grams Split Peas

Recipe Directions for split pea soup

  1. heat oil in dutch oven

  2. dice onion, celery, carrots uniformly small dice, add to pot

  3. dice ham slightly larger, add to pot

  4. add one 16 oz bag dried green split peas to the pot

  5. add 1 tsp each of sage and thyme

  6. add 1 bay leaf

  7. cover with two boxes chicken broth

  8. cover pot and set timer for 1 hour, check peas for doneness and adjust cooking time as necessary
