Recipe Ingredients for split pea soup

1/4 lb. ham
1 onion
8 cups water
375 g dried split peas
1 cup diced carrots
1 cup diced celery
1/2 cup diced green pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Recipe Directions for split pea soup

Put all ingredients in a slow cooker. Cook on high for 6-7 hours. Reduce to low and simmer for 1 hour.
