Recipe Ingredients for Split pea soup with coriander

16 oz Green Split Peas
20 oz Pork, Fresh, Leg (Ham), Shank Half
2 stalk, medium (7-1/2" - 8" long) Celery
1/4 cup Coriander Leaves
60 sprigs Parsley
485 grams Onions
2 medium Carrots

Recipe Directions for Split pea soup with coriander

  1. Cut the onion into wedges.

  2. Combine all ingredients but the carrot with 6 cups water, coriander seeds, cloves, and pepper. Boil until peas are meltingly soft.

  3. Fish out the ham and a cup of peas for a garnish.

  4. Dice the ham, and also the carrot.

  5. Puree the soup. Return the ham and the carrots to the soup and simmer until the carrots are cooked.
