Split pea and Ham soup. Made with leftover Bone in Ham and cooked in the crockpot

Recipe Ingredients for Split Pea and Ham Soup

16 oz Ham
2 cup chopped Red Onion
16 oz Split Peas
2 tbsp Garlic Chopped in Water
3/10 tablespoon Thyme
1 tsp Pepper, Black
1/2 tsp, crumbled Bay Leaf
8 cups chicken stock

Recipe Directions for Split Pea and Ham Soup

  1. Clean Hambone and remove any excess fat from the ham. Cut ham in bite size pieces.

  2. Place Ham, Hambone, cleaned peas, Thyme, Black Pepper, and Bay Leaf in the Crock Pot. Add 8 Cups of water or Chicken stock.

  3. Chop Onion as desired and saute in butter after a couple of minutes add Garlic and saute until soft. Add to crock pot.

  4. Simmer in crock pot for 8 hours om low. Remove Hambone and serve.
