yummy raisin butter tarts made with Splenda brown sugar blend. Still not diabetic friendly, just cutting down on sugar where you can.

Recipe Ingredients for Splenda Butter Tarts

1 c raisins
1/2 c splenda brown sugar blend
1/2 c evaporated milk
2 T butter
1 egg
1/2 t vanilla
1/2 t nutmeg

Recipe Directions for Splenda Butter Tarts

  1. scald and drain raisins.

  2. while warm, add splenda brown sugar blend, butter and beaten egg. stir well.

  3. add vanilla and nutmeg. stir.

  4. if mixed while warm, consistency will be a butterscotch-like syrup.

  5. add evaporated milk and stir.

  6. fill tart shells 3/4 full trying to evenly disperse raisins.

  7. bake at 400F until pastry is golden brown.
