Recipe Ingredients for Spit Pea Soup

1 lb. split peas
1 1/2 tbsp lard
100 g celery
220 g carrots
200 g onions
4 cloves garlic
10 cups stock
460 g ham

Recipe Directions for Spit Pea Soup

  1. Boil ham bone and/or hock in 12 cups water for at least an hour.

  2. Remove, skim fat, and get meat. Have more meat ready if you need it.

  3. Sautee everything else but peas, add stock, add peas, and boil for about an hour.
