I've heard people talk about Spinning classes to lose weight but have no idea what it is.
Spinning® is a group indoor exercise program performed on specially designed stationary bicycles that are modified to feel like mountain bikes with racing handlebars, toe clips and adjustable seats. The class is usually led by a certified instructor who uses coaching and music to motivate the group as they ride through a simulated varied terrain. The rider controls the intensity by manipulating an adjustment knob on the Spinner. A class typically lasts about 40-minutes and can burn as many as 500 calories depending on intensity and duration. Spinning builds cardio-fitness and the muscles of the lower body. It is a non-impact aerobic exercise that is safe for almost everyone. Read more about Spinning at About.com.
