Spinach pie with cheese and herbs.

Recipe Ingredients for Spinach Pie

450 grams Spinach
3 small (3" long) Onions, Spring Or Scallions
1 clove(3 g) Garlic
1 tbsp Olive Oil
5 sprigs Dill Weed, Fresh
1 serving White Cheese 45
30 grams Twijfelaar cheese (cow, goat, sheep)
200 grams Hartige Taart

Recipe Directions for Spinach Pie

  1. Pre-heat your oven at 180C.

  2. Rinse the spinach and braise it in 2 tbsp of water until wilted down.

  3. Drain the spinach and add to the pan the olive oil, spring onions, garlic, spinach and stir well.

  4. Add the dill, a pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper and saute in low heat for 10'-15', until all water has evaporated and the ingredients are well blended.

  5. Add the cheese*, give it a stir and turn off the heat.

  6. Lightly oil your baking dish and line it with the hartige taart or pie dough.

  7. Pour the mixture and gently spread it all over the dish.

  8. Fold the edges of your dough towards the center and bake for about 35'-40'.

  9. *Any good white cheese will do. You can use feta, goat cheese or even ricotta cheese.
