Recipe Ingredients for Spinach Boereq from Olga's Healthy Choice

20 g whole grain flour
10 g bran
10 g spelt
6 g olive oil
10 g yogurt
20 g spinach
4 g onion
10 g Authentic Greek Feta Cheese
1/4 whole egg
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of chili
1 pinch of garam masala

Recipe Directions for Spinach Boereq from Olga's Healthy Choice

  1. Prepare a doug with flour mixtures and yogurt, oil, baking powder, egg, salt and some water. Cover the dough with some kitchen cloth and keep aside.

  2. Filling: Slighytly fry chopped onions in a pan with some oil. Add salt, chili, garam masala. Remove the pan from oven and add clean spinach and Feta Cheese. Mix all properly and let it cooled.

  3. Put the doug in two equal pieces. Prepare each piece as a round or according to your baking tray shape.

  4. Place first piece on the baking tray which is slightly oiled in advance.

  5. Then place the filling all over it.

  6. Then cover with the second piece of doug.

  7. Seal the endings of doug pieces properly. Make some tiny holes on top of doug with fork.

  8. Brush the top cover with some whole egg mixture.

  9. Bake in pre-heated oven in 200 o C. Please lower the temperature after putting the tray in the oven to 180.

  10. Bake about 25-30 minutes.

  11. Let it cool and then serve.
