Recipe Ingredients for Spicy Szechwan Beef & Broccoli

1 lb london broil, trimmed of all fat
14 oz frozen broccoli
1 tbsp garlic, minced
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup szechaun sauce

Recipe Directions for Spicy Szechwan Beef & Broccoli

  1. Slice the beef, across the grain, into thin strips. In a bowl, mix with the garlic powder, salt and pepper. Set aside.

  2. In a large skillet over high heat, spritz the pan with olive oil and place the frozen broccoli and garlic in the pan. Cook, covered, until the broccoli is crisp-tender. You may need to add a little water to the pan to prevent burning.

  3. Put the garlic-broccoli mixture in a bowl and set aside.

  4. Spritz the pan again with a little olive oil, place the meat in the pan and cook until no longer pink. Pour off any remaining liquid, but if you are using well-trimmed meat, there won't be many juices in the pan.

  5. Return the broccoli to the pan with the meat, and cook for 1 minute to mix together. Remove from heat.

  6. Stir in the Szechwan sauce and serve over brown rice.
