Turnips, carrots, celery, onions and mushrooms with andouille sausage in a light broth.

Recipe Ingredients for Spicy Sausage and Turnip Soup

1 cup chopped carrot
1 cup chopped onion
3 medium turnips, chopped
10 ounces mushrooms
1 cup chopped celery
12 ounces andouille sausage
16 ounces beef broth
2 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon tarragon
2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon rubbed sage
1 teaspoon oregano
2 tablespoon flour
2 tablespoon olive oil

Recipe Directions for Spicy Sausage and Turnip Soup

  1. Saute all vegetables and sausage in oil until onions soft. Add flour and cook one more minute stirring it in.

  2. Add broth and 4 cups water (enough to cover veggies and meat).

  3. Add spices and let simmer for about an hour until turnips and carrots are soft.
