Spicy rice with beans and minced beef - would be good with any kind of beans though (esp kidney or canelloni or chickpeas (garbonzo) )

Recipe Ingredients for Spicy Rice

250 g lean beef
1 onion
2 cloves garlic
500 g butter beans
1/4 cup brown rice
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp chili
1 tsp cumin powder
2 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp tomato puree

Recipe Directions for Spicy Rice

  1. put the rice on to boil

  2. sautee the garlic onions and all the spices (add in any spices you fancy)

  3. add the beef and cook

  4. drain off any excess fat once the meat has cooked

  5. add in the beans and the rice (it doesn't matter if the rice hasn't fully cooked yet)

  6. add a bit of water and the tomato puree and simmer for a little while until it has reduced down.

  7. EAT!
