Recipe Ingredients for Spicy Pasta Sauce

1 medium onion, diced
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
1 yellow bell pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
30 oz tomato sauce
1/4 cup tomato paste
1/2 cup beef broth, low sodium
1 tbs olive oil
1/8 teaspoon ground pepper
2 carrots, chopped
2 oz mushrooms
3 plum tomatoes
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Recipe Directions for Spicy Pasta Sauce

  1. brown sausage

  2. in large sause pan heat oil over med heat, add onions and garlic for 5 min

  3. in crockpot, add onion and garlic mixture, cooked sausage, tomato sauce, tomato paste, beef broth, sugar, pepper, ground red pepper, basil, and oregano. Mix well

  4. add tomatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms, and carrots

  5. bring to boil

  6. cover and cook for 4-5 hours
