Lots of heat, but low in fat. Use low sodium tomatoes, paste and beans to make this really healthy.

Recipe Ingredients for Spicy Chipotle Turkey Chili

1 T olive oil
400 g extra lean ground turkey
290 g black beans, rinsed
200 g onion, chopped
3 chipotle peppers, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
796 ml tomato, diced
360 g kidney beans, rinsed
3 T tomato paste
1/2 tsp chicken boullion
2 T chili powder
1/2 tsp ground cumin
2 c water
1 T worcestershire sauce

Recipe Directions for Spicy Chipotle Turkey Chili

  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan on medium heat. Add chopped onion and allow to soften. Add garlic and other spices.

  2. Chop chipotle peppers and add to pot. Mix and allow spices to blend.

  3. Add turkey and increase heat to med-high. Cook turkey until almost done.

  4. Mix chicken boullion with the water (at room temp). Let sit. Add tomatoes to pot

  5. Add chicken boullion and water mixture. Add tomato paste.

  6. Allow chili to cook for about 20 minutes on med-low heat. Cook on a low simmer.

  7. Add beans and allow to cook for another 15 minutes.
