Recipe Ingredients for Spicy Black Bean Burgers

1 3/5 cups black beans
4 tbsp whole wheat flour
2 small sweet red peppers
1/4 cup chunky salsa
1/4 medium red onion

Recipe Directions for Spicy Black Bean Burgers

  1. 1. Put the drained beans into a medium-sized bowl and mash with a fork.

  2. 2. Add the whole-wheat flour, onion, bell pepper, cumin and salsa. Continue to mash until all of the ingredients are combined.

  3. 3. With your hands, form into three same-sized patties. If cooking on an open flame or stovetop, grill burgers for three minutes on each side.

  4. 4. Serve in a bun topped with lettuce, tomato and more salsa.
