A quick and easy, yet delicious and filling, healthy pasta dish.

Recipe Ingredients for Spicy Bacon and Tomato Pasta

3 oz. pasta
1 1/2 cup chopped tomato
3/4 cup chopped onion
2 cloves chopped garlic
1 tsp Tabasco sauce
40 g back bacon
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp dried mixed herbs
1/8 cup grated cheese

Recipe Directions for Spicy Bacon and Tomato Pasta

  1. Place the pasta in a pan of boiling water and allow to simmer.

  2. Meanwhile, heat up a non stick frying pan, and add the onion and garlic. Heat until softened.

  3. Drain excess juice from tomatoes, if using tinned chopped tomatoes, and add to frying pan.

  4. Add Tabasco sauce, salt, sugar, (or sweetener) and herbs to the frying pan.

  5. Grill bacon whilst sauce is simmering.

  6. When bacon is cooked, chop up and add to the sauce.

  7. Simmer sauce until thick and rich.

  8. Drain pasta, pour on sauce and top with grated cheese.

  9. Serve with salad.
