Recipe Ingredients for Spicy Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps

1 tablespoons olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
20 oz ground turkey
11 g 1.5 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and finely minced
1 teaspoon cornstarch
2 oz diced green chili
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 large scallions
1/4 cup chicken broth
2 large carrot, peeled and coarsely grated
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 1/2 head Lettuce Boston Bibb Butter

Recipe Directions for Spicy Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps

  1. 1

  2. Heat the oil in a large (3- or 4-quart) straight-sided saute pan over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey and cook, stirring to break up the chunks, until the meat is fully cooked through and browned, about 10 minutes.

  3. 2

  4. While the turkey cooks, whisk the cornstarch, soy sauce, broth, and brown sugar together in a small bowl until the brown sugar dissolves, and reserve.

  5. 3

  6. Add the garlic, ginger, chili pepper, and the minced white parts of the scallions to the turkey and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes.

  7. 4

  8. Add the reserved soy-broth mixture and cook, stirring, until the sauce thickens. Remove from the heat and add the carrots and scallions.

  9. 5

  10. Break the head of Bibb lettuce into separate leaves, rinse well, and spin dry. Serve the lettuce and ground turkey family-style.
