Old fashioned oatmeal, currants, spices and whole wheat flour, and 2 sticks of real butter make these very tasty

Recipe Ingredients for Spice Currant Cookies

1 cup salted butter
1 egg
2 T water
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c white sugar
1 c white flour
1 c whole wheat flour
1/2 t baking soda
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t nutmeg
1/4 t cloves
3/4 c currants
2 c rolled oats

Recipe Directions for Spice Currant Cookies

  1. cream butter & sugar, add egg & water. scrape sides & beaters.

  2. stir dry ingredients together in a separate bowl and add to creamed mixture in 2 or 3 parts, stirring just until blended

  3. scrape sides & beaters

  4. add oats & currants

  5. drop by rounded tablespoons on baking sheet

  6. bake for 10 minutes at 375

  7. yield 60 cookies
