Elastic and moist rolls good for breakfast. Excellent with dishes that has sauce for dipping.

Recipe Ingredients for Spelt Bread Rolls

3 3/4 cups (450g) Spelt, white
3 tsp (15g) Salt
3 tsp (15g) Dry Yeast
2 1/2 tbsp (30g) Sugar
1 1/4 cups (300ml) Water, Lukewarm

Recipe Directions for Spelt Bread Rolls

  1. Mix flour and salt in a bowl put aside.

  2. In a small bowl mix the yeast, sugar and a little bit of the water. Make a hole in the flour and add the yeast mix and the rest of the water. Combine the ingredients together to make a smooth dough. If the dough is too moist add a little flour. Knead as little as possible.

  3. Cover and leave to raise until it doubles its size.

  4. Heat the oven to a high temperature (240 degrees Centigrade) and put a pan full of water at the bottom (The water should boil before inserting the rolls).

  5. Divide the dough to 16 equal pieces. Make a ball of each piece, put in a baking pan covered with baking paper.

  6. Leave the rolls to raise for 20 more minutes until they raise a little.

  7. Spread some flour on the rolls and make a cut on each roll using a very sharp knife.

  8. Put in the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes.
