My take on traditional spanish rice like you'd find in a mexican restaurant.

Recipe Ingredients for Spanish Rice (from scratch)

3 tbsp vegetable oil
3 cups white rice
6 cups water
12 g chicken bouillon
1 tbsp onion powder
100 g tomato sauce
1 tbsp dried minced garlic
12 g anaheim chilie
2 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Spanish Rice (from scratch)

  1. Heat oil in large pan (that will hold 6+ cups of fluid), when hot add uncooked rice and fry the grains until light brown.

  2. Add water, 3 bouillon cubes (12 grams), onion powder, tomato sauce, minced garlic, salt and half an anaheim chili, seeded. (I leave my chilies in large pieces to impart flavor, then I pull them out before serving. If you prefer to eat them with the dish just chop them small.)

  3. Heat to boil then simmer until done, about 20 minutes.
