Recipe Ingredients for Spanish Rice

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup uncooked regular long grain rice
2 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
8 oz tomato sauce

Recipe Directions for Spanish Rice

  1. Heat oil in 10-inch skillet over medium heat.

  2. Cook rice in oil about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until rice is golden brown.

  3. Stir in remaining ingredients.

  4. Heat to boiling, reduce heat to low.

  5. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes stirring occasionally, until rice is tender
